China has urged the Japanese side to retract its erroneous remarks regarding Taiwan and to honor its political commitment to China through concrete actions, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

Mao was responding to recent erroneous remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Taiwan, which China has strongly criticized and over which it has lodged solemn representations with Japan.

"China's stance is clear. We ask Japan to retract the erroneous remarks and honor its political commitments to China through concrete actions," Mao said.
