History has proven and will continue to prove that any attempt to pursue Taiwan secession separatism is doomed to fail, said Chen Binhua, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Chen made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, slamming the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for pursuing secession agenda.

"Perusing Taiwan secession separatism means war, which leads only to a dead end. We have full confidence and capability to crush any attempt at 'de jure Taiwan secession' in whatever form, and we will never allow separatist forces to split Taiwan from China under any name or by any means.
