On his official visit to China, Taoiseach of Ireland Micheal Martin expressed his willingness to deepen cooperation with China and enhance coordination in multilateral affairs, saying that multilateralism is the key to reducing conflicts.

Martin's visit to China from Jan 4 to 8 marked the first visit by an Irish government head in 14 years and Martin's first since taking office.

During an interview with the China Media Group on Tuesday, Martin spoke highly of the achievements China has made over the past two decades.

"I visited here 20 years ago, and it was much different than now in terms of the advancement and the progress. I mean the modernity and the extraordinary and rapid progress in China, in terms of urbanization, in terms of the lifting of hundreds of millions of people out of poverty through economic development and progress. That all has to be acknowledged," he said.

Martin emphasized the cooperation between Ireland and China and stressed the crucial role of high-level dialog. He said dialog and communication is a simple and important act between people.

"If you close off and if you disengage, problems get worse. You imagine things that are not there. You become more suspicious of the person that you're dealing with. So, my point basically is, and as a former minister of foreign affairs, diplomacy matters. Keeping dialog going matters. Keeping the channels of communication is essential because if you talk and if you keep engaging, issues can get resolved, misunderstandings can be dealt with," he said.

In his meeting with President Xi Jinping on Monday, Martin said Ireland is willing to deepen cooperation with China in trade, investment, science and technology, biomedicine, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, education and other fields.

He also commended China's indispensable and important role in international affairs and its positive contributions to upholding the authority of the UN and promoting world peace. He said the world needs to work together to reduce conflicts.

Lors de sa visite officielle en Chine du 4 au 8 janvier, le Premier ministre irlandais Micheál Martin a exprimé sa volonté d'approfondir la coopération avec la Chine et de renforcer la coordination dans les affaires multilatérales, affirmant que le multilatéralisme est la clé de la réduction des conflits.

Le voyage de Martin a marqué la première visite d'un chef du gouvernement irlandais depuis 14 ans et la première visite de Martin depuis son entrée en fonction.

Lors d'un entretien accordé mardi au China Media Group (CMG), Martin a fait l'éloge des réalisations de la Chine au cours des deux dernières décennies.

Martin a souligné la coopération entre l'Irlande et la Chine et a insisté sur le rôle crucial du dialogue de haut niveau. Il a affirmé que le dialogue et la communication constituent un acte simple et important entre les peuples.

Lors de sa rencontre avec le président Xi Jinping lundi, Martin a affirmé que l'Irlande était disposée à approfondir sa coopération avec la Chine dans les domaines du commerce, de l'investissement, des sciences et technologies, de la biomédecine, des énergies renouvelables, de l'intelligence artificielle, de l'éducation et autres.

Il a également salué le rôle indispensable et important de la Chine sur la scène internationale et sa contribution positive au maintien de l'autorité de l'ONU et à la promotion de la paix dans le monde. Il a affirmé que la communauté internationale devait œuvrer de concert pour réduire les conflits.

En su visita oficial a China, el primer ministro de Irlanda, Micheal Martin, expresó su voluntad de profundizar la cooperación con China y mejorar la coordinación en asuntos multilaterales, diciendo que el multilateralismo es la clave para reducir los conflictos y las guerras.

La visita de Martin a China del 4 al 8 de enero marcó la primera visita de un jefe de Gobierno irlandés al país en 14 años y la primera de Martin desde que asumió el cargo.

Durante una entrevista con el Grupo de Medios de China el martes, Martin elogió los logros que China ha alcanzado en las últimas dos décadas.

También elogió el papel indispensable e importante de China en los asuntos internacionales y sus contribuciones positivas al mantenimiento de la autoridad de la ONU y la promoción de la paz mundial. Afirmó que el mundo necesita trabajar juntos para reducir los conflictos.

Beim offiziellen Besuch in China äußerte sich der irische Premierminister Michael Martin seine Bereitschaft, die Zusammenarbeit mit China zu vertiefen und die Koordination in multilateralen Angelegenheiten zu verstärken. Er sagte, dass der Multilateralismus der Schlüssel zur Reduzierung der Konflikte sei.

Martins Besuch vom 4. bis 8. Januar markierte den ersten Besuch eines irischen Regierungschefs seit 14 Jahren und Martins ersten in dem Land seit seinem Amtsantritt.

Während eines Interviews mit China Media Group am Dienstag lobte Martin die Errungenschaften Chinas in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten.

„Ich war vor 20 Jahren hier und damals war alles ganz anders als heute, was den Fortschritt und die Entwicklung angeht. Ich meine damit die Modernität und den außergewöhnlichen und rasanten Fortschritt in China, was die Urbanisierung angeht, was die Befreiung von Hunderten Millionen Menschen aus der Armut durch wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Fortschritt angeht. Das alles muss anerkannt werden“, sagte er.

Martin betonte die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Irland und China und hob die entscheidende Rolle des hochrangigen Dialogs hervor. Er sagte, dass Dialog und Kommunikation ein einfacher und wichtiger Akt zwischen den Menschen seien.

Er lobte auch Chinas unverzichtbare und wichtige Rolle in internationalen Angelegenheiten und Chinas positive Beiträge zur Aufrechterhaltung der Autorität der Vereinten Nationen und zur Förderung des Weltfriedens. Er sagte, die Welt benötige Zusammenarbeit, um Konflikte zu reduzieren.

„Multilateralismus ist der Schlüssel zur Reduzierung von Konflikten und Kriegen. Wir waren uns alle einig, dass die Welt sich nicht in guter Lage befindet. Es ist erschreckend, dass wir so viele Kriege im Sudan, in der Ukraine und im Gazastreifen haben und so viele unschuldige Menschen sterben. Die Welt muss also Bilanz ziehen und versuchen, den Konflikt zu reduzieren. Präsident Xi hat sich ebenfalls klar dazu geäußert, dass wir auf UN-Ebene versuchen müssen, die Autorität der UN wiederherzustellen und diese Kriege zu beenden“, sagte er.
