Chinese President Xi Jinping received the credentials of 18 new ambassadors to China in Beijing on Friday.
The ambassadors are Selçuk Ünal from Türkiye, Wolf Deitrich Heim from Austria, Peter Wilson CMG from Britain, Ahmad Tahsin Ahmad Berwari from Iraq, Koula Sophianou from Cyprus, Gaëtan Michel Siew Hew Sam from Mauritius, Milan Lajčiak from Slovakia, Kojo Bonsu from Ghana, Tonata Itenge-Emvula from Namibia, Roh Jae Heon from the Republic of Korea, Anibal Cabral Segalerba from Uruguay, Krystyna Marty from Switzerland, Jawad Mohammed Qutish Awad from Palestine, Carlos Raúl Vásquez Corrales from Peru, Milad Raad from Lebanon, Cyprien Sylvestre Mamina from the Republic of the Congo, Mapaballo Mile from Lesotho and Zaw Win Myint from Myanmar.
In a speech following the credentials presentation ceremony, Xi warmly welcomed the ambassadors to their positions and asked them to convey his best wishes to the leaders and people of their respective countries.
He expressed the hope that the diplomatic envoys will travel widely in China to gain a true, multi-dimensional understanding of the country, and make positive contributions to deepening friendship and cooperation between China and their own countries.
Emphasizing that China is forging ahead on a new journey of modernization after completing the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), Xi stressed that as China has charted its development in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), the country will continue to open up wider to the world and contribute to shared growth and common progress.
Xi noted that the world today is undergoing accelerating changes on a scale rarely seen in a century, with the international landscape beset by transformation and turbulence, and global challenges becoming more prominent.
Division, confrontation and zero-sum games have no future, and returning the world to the law of the jungle is not what people want to see, Xi said, adding that global solidarity and cooperation are the only right choices.
China always stands on the right side of history, responds to people's concerns, pursue the larger interests of all countries, and is ready to joining forces with all other countries to build a community with shared future for mankind, Xi said.
