Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Beijing on Wednesday, during the latter's official visit to China.
　　
During their talks, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China and Azerbaijan should see each other as reliable and mutually beneficial strategic partner, which is a political decision made by the heads of state of the two countries. Regardless of how the international situation changes, China will view and develop its relations with Azerbaijan from a strategic perspective, Wang noted.
　　
China appreciates Azerbaijan's firm support on issues concerning China's core interests over the years, Wang said.

For his part, Bayramov said Azerbaijan firmly believes that China's development is an opportunity for the world, supports the four global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and is willing to join the Group of Friends of Global Governance. He also reiterated Azerbaijan's firm adherence to the one-China principle.
