Venezuelans took to the streets in the country's capital city, Caracas, calling for national unity and peace and demanding that the United States release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
Tuesday marked one month since the U.S. seized Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and placed them in custody in New York.
Footage from China Media Group (CMG) showed demonstrators waving Venezuelan flags and holding placards, as they called for the release of Maduro and Flores.
"We took to the street, and we will continue to fight, because we hope the president will come back," said Maycol Fernandez, a protester.
"We demand the release of our president as soon as possible, and we want to tell the world that Venezuela is a land of peace," said Yesenia Gonzalez, another protestor.
"We must be more united than ever. No one or no force can divide us," said Juan Carlos Aleman, a member of the Venezuelan National Assembly.
