China-Japanese Entities/Export Control
Beijing, China - Jan 26, 2026 (CCTV - No access Chinese mainland)
1. Press briefing in progress
2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) He Yongqian, spokeswoman, Ministry of Commerce:
"Japan has accelerated its military buildup, worked to lift restrictions on arms export, developed offensive military capability, and sought to revise the three Non-Nuclear Principles (not possessing, not producing and not allowing introduction of nuclear weapons into Japanese territory). These facts reflect the dangerous trend of Japan 'remilitarizing' itself faster and its attempts to possess nuclear weapons, posing a threat to regional and world peace. As a responsible major country, China always actively fulfills its international non-proliferation obligations. China added certain Japanese entities to its export control list and watch list on Feb 24. The move is aimed at blocking Japan's attempts to remilitarize itself and possess nuclear weapons, and it is fully legitimate, justified and lawful."
