"My view is that the upcoming 'Two Sessions' in early March are not only of great significance to China, but also to the world. This is because the overall framework of the 15th Five-Year Plan, adopted at the end of 2025, will be discussed at this meeting. This plan will determine China's development direction from 2026 to 2030, and will also lay the foundation for development over the next decade. President Xi Jinping has reiterated that China is open and hopes to cooperate with other countries, and is willing to share its development achievements. Today, China is a modern country, leading in many technological fields, such as green energy, communication technology, and infrastructure construction. Currently, China offers the world abundant opportunities for cooperation."

China's continued commitment to openness and cooperation sends an important signal of stability and predictability. Constructive engagement with China helps strengthen regional resilience."

Storyline

China's high-quality economic development has made steady progress, injecting stronger momentum into the global economy, according to international observers who have shared their expectations for China's upcoming Two Sessions.

The "two sessions" are the annual meetings of China's top legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), and the top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Both bodies serve five-year terms and hold a plenary session each year, generally in March.

The fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress and the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will be held on Thursday and Wednesday this week, respectively.

Currently, China offers the world abundant opportunities for cooperation," said Wojciech Nowiak, professor of Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM).

"We notice that China has invested heavily in artificial intelligence and humanoid robots. China is already a global leader in these fields. Every time I travel to China for business, I find that it has achieved remarkable results in the machinery industry, and provided more intelligent solutions. China is forging ahead with very strong momentum," said Norbert Gemmeke, a German businessman.

International observers said that many countries look forward to strengthening cooperation with China, a key engine of global economic development in multiple fields, to jointly build a prosperous and stable world.

"I think it's a very important event. China is a leading player in innovation and disruptive technologies. China is leading the race for EVs, solar, wind energy. "Given China rose as a major engine of global growth and a key player in global governance, the decision and policy signals coming out of the Two Sessions have implications not only for China's 1.4 billion people, but also for global market, supply chain, and international cooperation. China's continued commitment to openness and cooperation sends an important signal of stability and predictability. Constructive engagement with China helps strengthen regional resilience," said Lim Wen Jye, a senior researcher of the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (INSAP).
