China has publicly unveiled two new Type 055 guided-missile destroyers that have been newly commissioned in Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, Dongguan (Hull 109) and Anqing (Hull 110).
The two 10,000-ton-class destroyers have conducted training at sea successfully in recent days.
The two vessels are assigned to the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command.
With these additions, the number of China's Type 055 10,000-ton-class destroyers has risen to 10 since the first Type 055 destroyer Nanchang (Hull 101) was commissioned in 2020.
The Type 055 is one of the Chinese PLA Navy's most advanced surface combatants and is designed for air defense, missile strike, and fleet command roles within carrier strike groups.
