Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Monday night that the Pakistani military had conducted airstrikes on its capital city of Kabul.
Mujahid said in a post on X the airstrikes targeted a rehabilitation hospital in the capital that provides treatment for drug addicts, resulting in a large number of casualties.
Meanwhile, Pakistan denied the claim, saying the air strikes it launched on Monday night precisely targeted military facilities in Kabul and Nangarhar province.
Pakistan dismissed Afghanistan's accusation as "false and aimed at misleading public opinion."
Exchanges of fire broke out in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan from Feb 26 night to the next day morning, leading to escalation of tensions between the two countries.
