"China possesses indisputable sovereignty over Nanhai Zhudao and the adjacent waters, including Huangyan Dao, as well as sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the relevant waters. It is justified for China to carry out routine law enforcement activities to safeguard its rights within the waters under its jurisdiction. In response to the Philippine Coast Guard's infringing and harassing actions, China has handled them in a professional, restrained, reasonable, and lawful manner."

5. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Jiang Bin, spokesman, Ministry of National Defense:
"Using patrols as a pretext to bring journalists along, film videos, deliberately stir up troubles, and amplify a 'victim' narrative through the media is a script the Philippine side frequently employs. The so-called 'transparency' and 'exposure' touted by the Philippine side do not reveal the truth to the world, but rather a farce written, directed, and acted out by themselves. We solemnly warn the Philippine side that no matter how they edit footage or fabricate lies, they cannot alter the sovereignty of Huangyan Dao and other islands and reefs in the South China Sea, nor can they shake China's firm resolve to safeguard its rights in accordance with the law. We will continue to take effective measures to respond to all acts of infringement and provocation."

The farce made by the Philippines in the waters of Huangyan Dao will not shake China's firm resolve to safeguard its rights in accordance with the law, said Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Jiang Bin at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Jiang made the comments in response to reports that a Philippine Coast Guard reconnaissance aircraft carrying reporters was ordered by Chinese naval vessels to leave when patrolling near Huangyan Dao on March 7.
