"Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and how to resolve the Taiwan question is entirely China's internal affair, which brooks no external interference. The United States should uphold the one-China principle and strictly abide by the three China-U.S. joint communiques, exercising caution in its words and actions regarding the Taiwan question. Meanwhile, the relevant U.S. institutions and individuals should abandon ideological bias and the Cold War zero-sum mindset, adopt a correct understanding of China, and stop hyping up the so-called 'China threat.'"

China urged the United States to exercise caution in its words and actions regarding the Taiwan question, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

In response to a recent U.S. intelligence report, Lin stressed that "Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and how to resolve the Taiwan question is entirely China's internal affair, which brooks no external interference."

"The United States should uphold the one-China principle and strictly abide by the three China-U.S. joint communiques, exercising caution in its words and actions regarding the Taiwan question. Meanwhile, the relevant U.S. institutions and individuals should abandon ideological bias and the Cold War zero-sum mindset, adopt a correct understanding of China, and stop hyping up the so-called 'China threat,' Lin noted.
