"China opposes illegal unilateral sanctions. We are deeply concerned about the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. All parties should halt military operations immediately, avoid further escalation, and prevent regional turmoil from having a broader impact on global economic growth. Energy security is crucial to the world economy and all parties have the responsibility to ensure a stable and unimpeded energy supply."

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that all parties have the responsibility to ensure a stable and unimpeded energy supply, at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.
Lin remarked in response to a media query about reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated the States may lift sanctions on roughly 140 million barrels of Iranian oil currently in transit.
"China opposes illegal unilateral sanctions. We are deeply concerned about the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. All parties should halt military operations immediately, avoid further escalation, and prevent regional turmoil from having a broader impact on global economic growth. Energy security is crucial to the world economy and all parties have the responsibility to ensure a stable and unimpeded energy supply," said Lin.
