U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on social media Saturday that the United States would target Iranian power plants if the country fails to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

The target will start with the biggest one first, Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, situated on Iran's southern coast along the Persian Gulf, is widely considered the largest power plant in the country.

Iran swiftly responded to the threat. According to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, the country's primary military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned on Sunday that it would strike "all energy, information technology and desalination infrastructure belonging to the U.S. and the regime in the region" if its energy infrastructure was attacked.

Le président américain Donald Trump a menacé samedi sur les réseaux sociaux de frapper des centrales électriques iraniennes si le pays ne rouvrait pas entièrement le détroit d'Ormuz dans les 48 heures.

"Nous commencerons par la plus grande", a déclaré M. Trump dans un message publié sur sa plateforme de réseaux sociaux Truth Social. La centrale nucléaire de Bushehr, située sur la côte sud de l'Iran, au bord du golfe Persique, est largement considérée comme la plus grande centrale électrique du pays.

L'Iran a rapidement réagi à cette menace. 　トランプ氏は自身のSNS「トゥルース・ソーシャル（Truth Social）」への投稿で、「もしイランが、脅しなく完全にホルムズ海峡を現時点から48時間以内に開放しなければ、米国はイラン最大の発電所を手始めに、国内さまざまな発電所を攻撃して徹底的に壊滅させる」と発表した。

　これに対し、イラン側は即座に反応を示した。イランの軍事作戦・統合司令部ハタム・アル・アンビヤ中央本部は22日、「イランの燃料・エネルギーインフラが敵によって侵害された場合、地域内にある米国およびその同盟国に属するすべてのエネルギー、情報技術、海水淡水化インフラが標的となる」と、ファルス通信が伝えた声明の中で述べた。
