Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged the implementation of the successful experience and practices of Beijing No. 4 High School at its Xiong'an campus during his inspection tour of the Xiong'an New Area in northern China's Hebei Province.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the school's campus, talked with teachers and students, and was briefed about the teaching conditions.
He expressed hope that the effective practices of the school could be replicated in Xiong'an and emphasized the importance of caring for students' physical and mental health to promote their all-round development.
In the school canteen, he examined the dining environment and the variety of dishes available. He stressed the importance of ensuring food safety and proper nutrition management in students' meals.
Xi also encouraged the students to strive for progress and maintain a positive outlook, and urged them to grow together with the Xiong'an New Area, and advance in step with the Chinese modernization.
"You must keep on striving, grow strong, and become an excellent generation," Xi told the students while meeting them outdoors.
The school's Xiong'an campus, built with assistance from the Beijing Municipality, began operation in August 2023 and currently has more than 380 students.
