Attendees at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2026 in south China's Hainan Province have spoken highly of China's robust development and global initiatives.

Running from Tuesday to Friday, this year's conference is themed "Shaping a Shared Future: New Dynamics, New Opportunities, New Cooperation," with the attedees engaging in dialogues and exchanges on major challenges and urgent issues currently faced by Asia and the rest of the world.

Coinciding with the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan for national socioeconomic development in the 2026-2030 period, the event highlights China's development prospect, featuring more than 10 sub-forums on issues such as China's high-quality development, investment in China, and the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Speaking at the event, the attendees highly affirmed China's steady and predictable development, which has been continuously injecting certainty and positive energy into the world.

"I see no sector that should overlook China. Every sector should consider what to do in China. That's one, because what happens in China is central, has momentum and would impact a large part of the world," said Joel Ruet, chairman of the Bridge Tank in France.

"The [15th Five-Year] Plan is so well written. What I appreciate is this push for having more and more renewables into the grid. And this is what arena we are working for," said Francesco La Camera, director-general of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

The attendees also said China's four global initiatives, namely the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, have offered a comprehensive framework for building a more inclusive, secure and sustainable world.

Maximo Torero, chief economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, praised the initiatives as they help the world to build resilience to challenges.

Founded in 2001, the BFA is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.
