U.S. delegates led by Vice President JD Vance arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan on Saturday morning for talks with Iran, with an aim to end hostilities in the Middle East.

The U.S. team also includes President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who are in a separate plane landing at the Nur Khan airbase earlier in the day.

The Iranian delegation headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived early Saturday. However, distrust between the two adversaries still shadows their peace talks scheduled for that day.

Following the arrivals of both sides of the talks, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed hope that all parties involved in the ongoing conflict would engage constructively to advance efforts toward a peaceful resolution, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.

In a statement, Dar reiterated Pakistan's willingness to continue facilitating the parties in achieving a lasting and durable solution, underscoring the importance of dialogue and cooperation in resolving disputes.

Une délégation américaine, conduite par le vice-président J.D. Vance, est arrivée samedi matin à Islamabad, au Pakistan, pour des pourparlers avec l'Iran, dans le but de mettre fin aux hostilités au Moyen-Orient.

L'équipe américaine comprend également l'envoyé spécial du président Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, et son gendre, Jared Kushner, qui sont arrivés plus tôt dans la journée à bord d'un autre avion, à la base aérienne de Nur Khan.

La délégation iranienne, dirigée par le président du Parlement, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, est arrivée tôt samedi matin. Cependant, la méfiance entre les deux adversaires plane toujours sur les négociations de paix prévues ce jour-là.

Suite à l'arrivée des deux parties, le vice-Premier ministre et ministre des Affaires étrangères du Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, a exprimé l'espoir que toutes les parties impliquées dans le conflit en cours s'engageraient de manière constructive afin de progresser vers une résolution pacifique, a indiqué le ministère pakistanais des Affaires étrangères.

Dans une déclaration, Dar a réitéré la volonté du Pakistan de continuer à faciliter les efforts des parties pour parvenir à une solution durable et pérenne, soulignant l'importance du dialogue et de la coopération dans le règlement des différends.
