To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and president of Vietnam, visited Tsinghua University in Beijing on Tuesday, where he delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of an educational forum.
While addressing the China–Vietnam Higher Education and Sci-Tech Innovation Forum, To Lam gave a heartfelt review of the profound friendship between the Communist parties and the peoples of China and Vietnam. He emphasized that Vietnam regards its relations with China as a top priority, and attaches great importance to talent cultivation and educational cooperation between the two countries.

Recent years have witnessed ever-closer cooperation between China and Vietnam in education and science and technology. From talent training and academic exchanges to frontier research in AI and sustainable development, the partnership has flourished. With tens of thousands of young students studying in each other's country and hundreds of universities collaborating, new vitalities have been injected into the bilateral ties.
"As Vietnamese students studying in China, we are a bridge for exchanges and cooperation between China and Vietnam. I hope we can visit each other more often and make our ties better and better," said a student from Vietnam.
At the invitation of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, To Lam arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a state visit to China through Friday. China is the first country To Lam visits following his recent election as Vietnamese president.
