Iran’s football federation said on Saturday that the men’s national team will participate in the 2026 World Cup, but demanded that joint hosts of the United States, Mexico and Canada meet its conditions amid the intensified tensions in the Middle East.

"We will definitely participate in the 2026 World Cup, but the hosts must take our concerns into account,” the Iranian Federation said on its official website.

Previously, Mehdi Taj, president of the Iran Football Federation, said that to ensure the Iranian team is properly treated during the tournament, Iran has 10 demands, including the smooth visa issuance and entry for Iranian team personnel, respect for Iranian team personnel, the Iranian flag, and the national anthem during the tournament, and high-level security protection for Iranian team personnel.

Iran has been drawn in Group G for the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.

The team is scheduled to open its campaign against New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15, followed by a match against Belgium at the same venue on June 21. Its final group match is set for June 26 against Egypt in Seattle.

أعلن الاتحاد الإيراني لكرة القدم يوم السبت/ 9 مايو الجاري أن المنتخب الوطني للرجال سيشارك في كأس العالم 2026، لكنه طالب الدول المضيفة المشتركة، الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا، بتلبية شروطه وسط تصاعد التوترات في الشرق الأوسط.

وأعلن الاتحاد الإيراني على موقعه الرسمي: "سنشارك بالتأكيد في كأس العالم 2026، ولكن يجب على الدول المضيفة أن تأخذ مخاوفنا في الاعتبار."

وفي وقت سابق، قال مهدي تاج، رئيس الاتحاد الإيراني لكرة القدم، إنه لضمان معاملة المنتخب الإيراني بشكل لائق خلال البطولة، فإن لدى إيران 10 مطالب، بما في ذلك إصدار التأشيرات ودخول أفراد المنتخب الإيراني بسلاسة، واحترام أفراد المنتخب الإيراني والعلم الإيراني والنشيد الوطني خلال البطولة، وتوفير حماية أمنية عالية المستوى لأفراد المنتخب الإيراني.

وقع المنتخب الإيراني في المجموعة السابعة لكأس العالم، التي ستستضيفها الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا بشكل مشترك في الفترة من 11 يونيو إلى 19 يوليو.

من المقرر أن يفتتح المنتخب مشواره في البطولة بمواجهة نيوزيلندا في لوس أنجلوس في 15 يونيو، تليها مباراة ضد بلجيكا في نفس المكان في 21 يونيو. ومن المقرر أن تكون مباراته الأخيرة في المجموعة في 26 يونيو ضد مصر في سياتل.

La Federación de Fútbol de Irán afirmó el sábado que la selección nacional masculina participará en el Mundial de 2026, pero exigió que los coanfitriones —Estados Unidos, México y Canadá— cumplan sus condiciones en medio de la escalada de tensiones en Oriente Medio.

"Sin duda participaremos en la Copa Mundial de 2026, pero los anfitriones deben tener en cuenta nuestras preocupaciones", declaró la federación iraní en su sitio web oficial.

Anteriormente, Mehdi Taj, presidente de la Federación de Fútbol de Irán, había señalado que, para garantizar que la selección iraní reciba un trato adecuado durante el torneo, Irán plantea diez exigencias. Dentro del decálogo, se plantea la tramitación ágil de visados y la entrada sin trabas para los miembros de la delegación iraní; el respeto a los integrantes de la selección, a la bandera nacional iraní y al himno nacional durante la competición; así como un dispositivo de seguridad de alto nivel para el equipo iraní.

Irán ha quedado encuadrado en el Grupo G del Mundial, que se celebrará de forma conjunta en Estados Unidos, México y Canadá del 11 de junio al 19 de julio.

La selección iraní tiene previsto debutar el 15 de junio en Los Ángeles frente a Nueva Zelanda, para luego medirse a Bélgica el 21 de junio en la misma sede. Su último partido de la fase de grupos está fijado para el 26 de junio en Seattle, contra Egipto.
