European Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib called for continuing to provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon on Saturday, highlighting the need for increased access in regions where aid is most needed.

Lahbib, who made a visit to Lebanon from Friday to Saturday, said while aid is ready, it often has problem reaching those that require assistance the most.

She pointed out that in areas south of the Litani River, humanitarian aid entry remains strictly restricted and obstructed due to ongoing Israeli military activity and the destruction of key infrastructure, including bridges over the river.

She added that in areas north of the Litani River, while restrictions on humanitarian aid have eased, they remain insufficient.
