The Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that the armed forces have resumed their special military operation following the end of a ceasefire, while Ukraine reported successfully repelling Russia's attacks.

Russian forces observed the Victory Day ceasefire from Friday to Monday, remaining in positions previously held throughout the period, the ministry said in a statement.

"With the end of the ceasefire agreement, Russian forces have continued conducting the special military operation," it said.

According to the ministry, Russian forces struck Ukrainian military airfields, ammunition depots, fuel depots, and other targets across 56 regions, shooting down 108 fixed-wing drones.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that there were 174 battles in frontline areas.

Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks across multiple directions and shot down 1,252 Russian drones, said the report.
