It is ironic that the "Five Eyes" Alliance as the largest intelligence cooperation network in the world is accusing China of "threat", Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a media query about the allegations by the intelligence agencies from the so-called Five-Eyes Alliance that Chinese spies are using online job platforms to recruit people.

"As the world's largest intelligence cooperation network, the 'Five Eyes' has long engaged in massive systemic espionage all over the world. It is ironic that such an organization is accusing China of 'spy threat'," said Mao.
