At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing will pay a state visit to China from June 15 to 19, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.
"At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing will pay a state visit to China from June 15 to 19. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with him, and Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will have separate meetings with him," Lin said.
China and Myanmar are traditional friends and neighbors, and they belong to a community with a shared future, Lin said.
He said over the 76 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Myanmar have upheld the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence they have jointly advocated, shared weal and woe, looked out for each other and embraced solidarity and coordination, with the bilateral relationship having made remarkable progress.
