Global executives at the ongoing 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) are seeking deeper integration into China’s supply chain, viewing local partnerships as a lever to boost efficiency and resilience.

Since opening on Monday, the expo has drawn more than 670 exhibitors from 85 countries, regions and international organizations.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and embodied robots are among the biggest highlights at the expo, with leading Chinese and international firms showcasing cutting‑edge achievements. For the first time, a dedicated AI zone has been set up.

"The supply chain expo brings together AI resources in this pavilion, which is extremely valuable to us. We can leverage these resources to collaborate with each manufacturer and present our entire platform with richer content and more features to our customers," said Anthony Chow, global CEO of Newegg Commerce, Inc.

"China is far ahead in automation and AI applications. In the future, we may place greater emphasis on AI and automation to elevate the standards of our entire supply chain," said Yang Yuan, president of supply chain and chief sustainability officer at Procter and Gamble (P and G) Greater China.

"We're looking to engage in a bigger way in China and this expo seems like a great opportunity. A lot of it is to get further entrenched in the ecosystems like data center, automotive, industrial. Those are very complex ecosystems," said Todd Lepinski, senior vice president of Global Sales and Marketing at Skyworks Solutions, Inc.

"When you need it (the Chinese supply chain) to increase production capacity, it can do so quickly; when you need it to strictly control quality, it can do that as well. It is also the most cost-effective supply chain. We’ve asked some of our supply chain partners, and their procurement radius is only 20 or 30 kilometers. So, you can imagine the resilience and rapid response capabilities of the Chinese supply chain," said Alex Gu, senior vice president and president of Medtronic Greater China.

"We currently maintain close cooperation with over 15,000 local enterprises in China. China’s ecosystem is becoming increasingly diverse. Together with our local partners, we can strive to explore more and more scenarios, closely integrating excellent computing technologies with practical applications to further promote productivity," said Wang Zhicong, chairman of Intel China.

"The local procurement rate for our supply chain in China has already exceeded 90 percent. We are interconnected with 1,600 supplier partners to refine this model of industrial chain collaboration," said Zhang Kaipeng, senior vice president at Schneider Electric and its head of global supply chain for China.

The expo, which runs through Friday, is the world’s first national‑level exhibition dedicated to supply chains, launched in 2023.
