Oil prices climbed on Thursday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery gained 1.58 U.S. dollars, or 2.25 percent, to settle at 71.92 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for August delivery added 1.52 dollars, or 2.06 percent, to settle at 75.26 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
