Pakistan announced on Thursday that positive progress has been made regarding the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, with the next meeting to be scheduled at the earliest possible time after the funeral ceremonies of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

According to an announcement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Qatari and Pakistani mediators had concluded separate meetings with U.S. and Iranian negotiators in Doha.

A source said that the indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran in Doha on Wednesday focused on implementing the MoU reached in Islamabad on June 17, including issues related to frozen Iranian assets and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

The parties agreed to continue discussions in the coming period, with the next meeting to be scheduled at the earliest possible time following the funeral ceremonies of Ali Khamenei, the Pakistani statement said.

A funeral ceremony will be held in Tehran on Friday for Khamenei, who was killed in a U.S. and Israeli strike in Tehran on Feb 28, with the presence of foreign leaders, officials, and religious figures to pay tribute to the late leader.

There will be a series of farewell ceremonies and funeral processions, and the late Supreme Leader will be laid to rest in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad on July 9, according to Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian, Iran's deputy interior minister and head of the funeral organizing headquarters.

Le Pakistan a annoncé jeudi que des progrès positifs avaient été enregistrés dans la mise en œuvre du mémorandum d’entente (MoU) conclu entre l’Iran et les États-Unis, et que la prochaine réunion serait programmée dès que possible après les funérailles de l’ancien guide suprême iranien Ali Khamenei, prévues vendredi.

Selon un communiqué publié par le ministère pakistanais des Affaires étrangères, les médiateurs qatariens et pakistanais ont tenu des réunions séparées avec les négociateurs américains et iraniens à Doha.

Une source a indiqué que les pourparlers indirects entre les États-Unis et l’Iran, qui se sont déroulés mercredi à Doha, avaient porté sur la mise en œuvre du MoU signé à Islamabad le 17 juin, notamment en ce qui concerne les avoirs iraniens gelés et la sécurité maritime dans le détroit d’Ormuz.

Les parties sont convenues de poursuivre leurs discussions dans les prochains jours, la prochaine réunion devant être fixée à la date la plus proche possible après les funérailles d’Ali Khamenei, précise le communiqué pakistanais.

Ali Khamenei a été tué le 28 février dernier dans une frappe américano-israélienne sur Téhéran. Il sera inhumé le 9 juillet dans la ville sainte de Machhad, dans le nord-est de l’Iran, a indiqué Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian, vice-ministre iranien de l’Intérieur et responsable du comité d’organisation des funérailles.

Pakistán anunció el jueves que se han logrado avances positivos en la implementación del memorando de entendimiento entre Irán y Estados Unidos, y que la próxima reunión se programará lo antes posible tras las ceremonias fúnebres del difunto líder supremo iraní, Alí Jameneí.

Según un comunicado del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores pakistaní, mediadores cataríes y pakistaníes concluyeron reuniones por separado con negociadores estadounidenses e iraníes en Doha, capital de Catar.

Una fuente indicó que las conversaciones indirectas entre Estados Unidos e Irán, celebradas el miércoles en Doha, se centraron en la implementación del memorando de entendimiento alcanzado en Islamabad el 17 de junio, incluyendo temas relacionados con los activos iraníes congelados y la seguridad marítima en el estrecho de Ormuz.

Se realizarán diversas ceremonias de despedida y procesiones fúnebres, y el difunto líder supremo será sepultado en la ciudad de Mashhad, noreste de Irán, el 9 de julio, según informó Alí Akbar Pourjamshidian, viceministro del Interior de Irán y responsable de la organización del funeral.
