The Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) has issued another statement condemning the unfair treatments by the U.S. side toward the Iranian national team during the World Cup.

In its statement, the FFIRI described the sporting event as one of the most catastrophic World Cup tournaments in history.

The Iranian national team has returned home after exiting the U.S.-hosted World Cup at the group stage.

During the tournament, the squad faced stringent U.S. entry restrictions, prompting repeated complaints from the Iranian side.

In the statement, the FFIRI said the World Cup should have been a festival of football that embodies friendship and mutual respect among nations, not a platform to display political interference, discriminatory practices, racism and unprofessional conduct.

It added that as a host, the United States should have provided assistance to participating countries, yet instead created unnecessary obstacles, undermining the spirit of the sport.
