Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah arrived in Guangzhou City of south China's Guangdong Province on Sunday, starting a seven-day state visit to China.
This visit comes as the two countries celebrate the 36th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between them.
China and Namibia established diplomatic relations in 1990, and since then bilateral ties have developed steadily.
In 2018, the two countries elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
China is Namibia's main trading partner. In 2025, bilateral trade reached 1.85 billion U.S. dollars, up 35.7 percent year on year.
China's Foreign Ministry said the visit will elevate China-Namibia relations to a new high, contribute to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, and support the Global South's pursuit of strength through unity.
