China is deeply concerned about the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region and related parties should stop acts of hostilities, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

"China is deeply concerned about the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Regional countries’ sovereignty and security as well as territorial integrity should be respected.
