2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Lin Jian, spokesman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"The China Coast Guard (CCG) has made clear the facts of the incidents. Huangyan Dao has always been China's territory. It was the relevant Philippine vessels that deliberately intruded into the waters first. The measures taken by the Chinese side to safeguard its right, interests and security were reasonable and lawful. And Chinese personnel had acted in a professional, standard-compliant manner which is beyond reproach. The Philippines should immediately stop all infringement activities, provocations and groundless hype."

4. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Lin Jian, spokesman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"Notably, the Philippine side has once again arranged for journalists to take part in its infringement activities, deliberately provoked incidents, exploited them to hype up in the media and heightened tensions at the sea. This once again proves that the Philippines is a disruptor of peace and stability and a troublemaker in the South China Sea."

Lin made the remarks in response to a media query about the recent incidents in China's territorial waters off Huangyan Dao.
