The Philippines' illegal attempts to occupy Huangyan Dao, an inherent territory of China, are doomed to fail, Jiang Bin, a spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, said on Thursday.

He made the remarks in response to media reports that Philippine official vessels have repeatedly intruded into the waters under the jurisdiction of China's Huangyan Dao, and that the China Coast Guard has expelled them in accordance with the law. The Philippines, the United States, and Japan have also conducted so-called joint patrols in the relevant waters.
