The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday issued a strong condemnation of the United States and Israel, accusing them of violating international humanitarian law.

The condemnation coincided with the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the Fourth Geneva Convention, a key treaty aims at protecting civilian persons during times of war and military occupation.

The ministry denounced Israel's actions in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria over the recent years, stressing that U.S. support for Israel has intensified these violations. Furthermore, the ministry also condemned the recent military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran, noting that these actions have resulted in casualties, including children and students, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure like hospitals and schools.

The ministry emphasized that, under the Fourth Geneva Convention, those responsible for serious violations must be held accountable.

It warned that the ongoing breaches of international humanitarian law could undermine the global system dedicated to these protections and urged all countries to adhere to their international obligations.

In a related development, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said on Thursday that the U.S. military could sustain its naval blockade against Iran "indefinitely."

"Indefinitely, the U.S. Navy can maintain a blockade like that because we'll rotate ships in and out, as ​we have, and we'll continue to," Hegseth told reporters after addressing the crew aboard ​the USS Gridley in Panama.

Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), the body responsible for maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, said on Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked and it will not be reopened until Iran's conditions are accepted.

U.S. President Donald Trump claimed earlier Wednesday on Truth Social that the United States has "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz and will "keep it".
Iran tightened its grip on the Strait of Hormuz on Feb 28, barring safe passage of vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following their joint strikes on the Iranian territory.

Le ministère iranien des Affaires étrangères a vivement condamné jeudi les États-Unis et Israël, les accusant de violer le droit international humanitaire. Cette mise en cause intervient à l'occasion du 77e anniversaire de la quatrième Convention de Genève, traité fondamental pour la protection des civils en temps de guerre et d'occupation militaire.

Le ministère a dénoncé les actions d'Israël en Palestine, au Liban et en Syrie, estimant que le soutien américain à Tel-Aviv a aggravé ces violations. Il a également condamné les opérations militaires récentes des États-Unis et d'Israël contre l'Iran, qui ont causé des victimes – dont des enfants et des étudiants – et endommagé des infrastructures civiles, notamment des hôpitaux et des écoles.

Téhéran a rappelé que, en vertu de la quatrième Convention de Genève, les auteurs de violations graves doivent répondre de leurs actes, et a mis en garde contre les risques d'un affaiblissement du système international de protection. Il a exhorté tous les pays à respecter leurs obligations.

Par ailleurs, le secrétaire américain à la Défense, Pete Hegseth, a affirmé jeudi que l'armée américaine pourrait maintenir son blocus naval contre l'Iran "indéfiniment".

"Indéfiniment, la marine américaine peut maintenir un tel blocus, car nous ferons tourner les navires, comme nous le faisons déjà, et nous continuerons", a-t-il déclaré à des journalistes après s'être adressé à l'équipage de l'USS Gridley au Panama.

Mercredi, l'Autorité iranienne du détroit du golfe Persique, chargée du trafic dans le détroit d'Ormuz, affirmait que le détroit restait bloqué et ne serait rouvert que si les exigences de Téhéran étaient satisfaites.

Le président américain Donald Trump avait déclaré plus tôt sur son réseau social Truth Social que les États-Unis avaient le "contrôle total" sur le détroit d'Orumuz et qu'ils le "garderaient".

أصدرت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية يوم الخميس/13 أغسطس الجاري بيانا أدانت فيه الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل، متهمة إياهما بانتهاك القانون الدولي الإنساني.

تزامن هذا البيان مع الذكرى السنوية السابعة والسبعين لاعتماد اتفاقية جنيف الرابعة، وهي معاهدة رئيسية تهدف إلى حماية المدنيين في أوقات الحرب والاحتلال العسكري.

وأدانت الوزارة أعمال إسرائيل في فلسطين ولبنان وسوريا خلال السنوات الأخيرة، مؤكدةً أن الدعم الأمريكي لإسرائيل قد فاقم هذه الانتهاكات. كما أدانت إيران العمليات العسكرية الأخيرة التي شنتها الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل ضدها، مشيرةً إلى أن هذه الأعمال أسفرت عن سقوط ضحايا، بينهم أطفال وطلاب، فضلاً عن إلحاق أضرار بالبنية التحتية المدنية كالمستشفيات والمدارس.

وأكدت الوزارة أنه بموجب اتفاقية جنيف الرابعة، يجب محاسبة المسؤولين عن الانتهاكات الجسيمة. وحذرت من أن استمرار انتهاكات القانون الدولي الإنساني قد يقوض النظام العالمي المكرس لتوفير هذه الحماية، وحثت جميع الدول على التقيد بالتزاماتها الدولية.

وفي تطور ذي صلة، قال وزير الدفاع الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث يوم الخميس إن الجيش الأمريكي يمكنه الاستمرار في حصاره البحري ضد إيران "إلى أجل غير مسمى".

وصرح هيغسيث للصحفيين بعد مخاطبته طاقم المدمرة يو إس إس غريدلي في بنما: "بإمكان البحرية الأمريكية الحفاظ على حصار كهذا إلى أجل غير مسمى لأننا سنقوم بتناوب السفن ذهاباً وإياباً، كما فعلنا من قبل، وسنستمر في ذلك."

أعلنت هيئة مضيق الخليج الفارسي الإيرانية، وهي الهيئة المسؤولة عن حركة الملاحة البحرية في مضيق هرمز، يوم الأربعاء أن مضيق هرمز لا يزال مغلقاً ولن يُعاد فتحه حتى يتم قبول شروط إيران.

وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب زعم في وقت سابق من يوم الأربعاء على موقع Truth Social أن الولايات المتحدة لديها "سيطرة كاملة" على مضيق هرمز وستحتفظ بها.
