Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony for President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Roy-Gilchrist Noboa Azin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday afternoon.

At the invitation of Xi, Daniel Noboa is on a eight-day state visit to China through Sunday. This is his first trip to China as president.

During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Daniel Noboa on bilateral ties and other issues of common concern.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji will also meet with the Ecuadorian leader, respectively.

Daniel Noboa won his first presidential election in October 2023. He was reelected president of Ecuador last April and assumed office the following month.
