Residents of the Gaza Strip have expressed outrage over Israeli strikes in the enclave, the latest of which targeted a municipal police headquarters in central Gaza City.

At least nine Palestinians, including a woman, were killed Wednesday in the Israeli airstrike targeting the Hamas-run municipal police headquarters, according to Palestinian sources.

Among the casualties was Fatina Abdul Jabbar al-Sahhar, head of the Women's Police Department in Gaza.

"What happened to my wife today is a systematic and continuous attack on the police in general. Today they targeted the women's police force. My wife is a lieutenant colonel in the women's police force in Gaza City. She has absolutely no connection to militarism. Her work is for maintaining social peace, preserving the social fabric, and maintaining the security of the country," said Ismail al-Sahhar, husband of Fatina Abdul Jabbar al-Sahhar.

"They claim to be maintaining a 14-day humanitarian truce and a truce within the framework of peace, but the occupation surprises us every day with new arrogant killings and by continuously bombing the homes of innocent people, as well as innocent police officers," said Ismail al-Sahhar.

The strike has sparked widespread anger among Gaza residents and deep skepticism about the viability of a ceasefire agreement.

"What truce are you talking about? You keep laughing at us every day. You kill 20 or 30 people. Yesterday at the port you killed 20, and today at the municipal park you killed about 15 people, including children, women, the elderly, and the very old," said Abu Muhammad, a local resident.

In response to the airstrike, the Hamas-run interior authorities issued a brief press statement saying that the "Israeli occupation committed a new brutal massacre" against officers and members of the civilian police force in Gaza City.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Israeli military released a statement, saying it carried out two airstrikes, one in the Nuseirat area in the central Gaza Strip and the other in Gaza City's Tuffah area. The strikes targeted two Hamas commanders, according to the statement.

عبّر سكان قطاع غزة عن غضبهم الشديد من عودة الاغتيالات الإسرائيلية في القطاع، التي كان آخرها استهداف مقر شرطة البلديات في مدينة غزة، ما أسفر عن سقوط تسع ضحايا بينهم سيدتان من الشرطة وإصابة خمسة عشر آخرين بجروح خطيرة.

أسفرت عملية استهداف جديدة نفذها الجيش الإسرائيلي في وسط مدينة غزة لمقر شرطة البلديات عن سقوط تسعة ضحايا بينهم سيدة واصابة خمسة عشر آخرين بجروح خطيرة، بعد أقل من أربع وعشرين ساعة على القصف الصاروخي الذي استهدف منطقة الميناء غرب غزة وأدت لسقوط ست ضحايا وأربعة عشر مصابا.

عملية القصف الصاروخي هذه التي أعلنت مصادر عسكرية إسرائيلية إنها نفذت بناء على السياسة التي وضعتها القيادة السياسية أثارت غضب سكان غزة بشكل كبير وطالبوا العالم بوضع حد لهذا الوضع الصعب.

وتابع إسماعيل السحار: "تدعي أنها محافظة على 14 يوما في إطار الهدنة الإنسانية والهدنة في إطار السلم لكن الاحتلال كل يوم يباغتنا بقتل بعنجهية جديدة وباستمرار قصف بيوت آمنين وكذلك شرطة آمنين."

وعبّر المواطنون في قطاع غزة أيضا عن مخاوفهم وخشيتهم من تجدد الحرب عليهم وألا تقف الأمور عند عمليات الاغتيال التي نفذها الجيش الإسرائيلي خلال الساعات الأخيرة .

وقال أبو محمد، مواطن من غزة: "أي هدنة أنت اللي بتقولوا عنها بتتكلموا عليها ويضحكوا علينا كل يوم بتقتلوا عشرين ثلاثين امبارح بالميناء قتلتوا عشرين واليوم من منتزه البلدية قتلتوا بيجي خمسة عشر منتزة البلدية من اطفال من النساء من العجائز والكبار في السن."

تضع عودة الاغتيالات في قطاع غزة من قبل الجيش الإسرائيلي مزيدا من التعقيدات والعراقيل على البدء بتنفيذ المرحلة الثانية من اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار ويزيد من معاناة سكان القطاع، ما يتطلب جهودا أكثر من قبل مجلس السلام والمجتمع الدولي لوضع حد لهذا الوضع الخطير.
