A package of fiscal-financial policies introduced by China this year to boost domestic demand has benefited about 6.22 million enterprises, Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min told a press conference in Beijing on Friday.
The government has allocated 100 billion yuan (about 15.4 billion U.S. dollars) under the policy package to support the domestic demand push in 2026.
"In the more than six months since the policy package was introduced, implementation has generally met expectations, and its effects have been gradually unfolding. According to our statistics, approximately 113 million people and about 6.22 million businesses, the vast majority of which are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), have benefited from the policy support," said Liao.
He said the policy package has effectively leveraged the multiplier effect of fiscal funds to support credit expansion despite headwinds in key investment and consumption sectors.
From January to July, policy instruments, including interest subsidies for loans to the MSME, equipment upgrades, service business entities, and personal consumption, facilitated over 20 trillion yuan in new credit to these sectors.
The policies have benefited not only traditional industries such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and cultural tourism, but also emerging and future industries including high-end equipment, artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon technologies, and bio-manufacturing.
During the same period, investment-boosting policies helped generate about 1.51 trillion yuan in private investment, while consumption-driven policies spurred approximately 1.88 trillion yuan in household spending.
