China calls on Japan to heed the rational domestic voices and take actions to create necessary conditions for bilateral exchanges, foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

He made the statement in response to a media query on a possible visit by a group of Japanese lawmakers to China in September.

"Some people with insights in Japan are deeply concerned about current China-Japan relations and hope to work toward improving bilateral ties. As long as they strictly adhere to the four political documents between China and Japan, pursue developing friendly relations with China, and cherish China-Japan relations, we are willing to engage in communication and exchange with them to enhance mutual understanding and trust.
