China is ready to work with fellow BRICS countries to push for the political settlement of hotspot issues through dialogue and negotiation, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a question about China's position on resolving regional hotspot issues during the 2026 BRICS Summit, which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi, India, over the weekend.

"China advocates a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable approach to security. We are committed to promoting the political settlement of hotspot issues through dialogue. We look forward to working with fellow BRICS countries to promote dialogue and negotiation to resolve differences and jointly safeguard regional and global peace and stability," Mao said.
