U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday signed into law the "Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026," according to a White House release on Friday.

The act authorizes and expands statutory sanctions, tariffs and prohibitions on Russia while extending existing sanctions on Iran.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill on Wednesday after the Senate passed it on Aug 7.

The measure would impose sanctions on Russian officials, banks and vessels used to transport Russian energy. It also authorizes Trump to impose tariffs of up to 100 percent on goods from the five largest importers of Russian oil or natural gas.

It also extends the Iran Sanctions Act by five years, maintaining sanctions targeting Iran's energy and weapons sectors.

Speaking about Iran the same day during an oval office press conference, Trump said the war would end "soon," reiterating that Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He also said that once the war with Iran ends, gasoline prices will fall back to previous levels or even lower.
Meanwhile, Trump said that the United States is in contact with Yemen's Houthi armed group.

Le président américain Donald Trump a promulgué vendredi une loi imposant des sanctions à la Russie, selon un communiqué de la Maison-Blanche.

Baptisée Loi Lindsey O. Graham de 2026 sur les sanctions contre la Russie et l'Iran, elle autorise et renforce les sanctions législatives, les droits de douane et les interdictions visant la Russie, tout en prolongeant les sanctions existantes contre l'Iran, a précisé la Maison-Blanche.

La Chambre des représentants a adopté le projet de loi mercredi, après son adoption par le Sénat le 7 août.

Le texte prévoit d'imposer des sanctions à l'encontre de responsables, de banques et de navires russes servant au transport d'énergie russe. Il autorise également M. Trump à imposer des droits de douane pouvant atteindre 100% sur les produits provenant des cinq plus grands importateurs de pétrole ou de gaz naturel russes.

La loi prolonge également de cinq ans l'Iran Sanctions Act, maintenant ainsi les sanctions visant les secteurs iraniens de l'énergie et de l'armement.

Ce texte est considéré comme l'héritage du défunt sénateur Lindsey Graham, qui en avait défendu l'adoption et qui est décédé en juillet dernier après une maladie brève et soudaine.

Les représentants ont été plus divisés au sujet de cette loi que les sénateurs.

Un récent communiqué commun de trois élus démocrates de la Chambre des représentants affirmait que cette loi "ferait plus de mal que de bien" et "élargirait considérablement les pouvoirs du président en matière de droits de douane, tout en omettant d'imposer des sanctions obligatoires à la Russie".

Президент США Дональд Трамп подписал законопроект о санкциях против России и Ирана, сообщили 18 сентября в Белом доме.

Как следует из заявления, американский лидер подписал законопроект, который дает возможность вводить и расширять санкции, пошлины и запреты в отношении России, а также продлевает действующие санкции против Ирана.

Отвечая на вопросы журналистов в Белом доме, Дональд Трамп в тот же день заявил, что война США и Израиля с Ираном вскоре завершится.

Он вновь заявил, что Иран никогда не будет иметь ядерного оружия. По словам американского лидера, после завершения войны цены на бензин вернутся на довоенный уровень или даже ниже.

Кроме того, Дональд Трамп отметил, что Соединенные Штаты поддерживают контакт с хуситами в Йемене.
