Long-term military pressure has proved that it will not bring peace, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday.

Araghchi delivered a speech at the virtual forum of Global Town Hall 2026, saying that decades of foreign intervention, military pressure, and endless wars in the Middle East have proven an undeniable truth that military intervention does not create security, and the exertion of pressure and coercion does not lead to peace.

Araghchi called on the international community to once again restore real meaning and credibility to international law, from interventionism toward respect for national sovereignty, from collective punishment toward the protection of civilians, from selective accountability toward universal justice, and from endless wars toward the lasting peace.

Global Town Hall, hosted by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), is an annual virtual dialogue that brings together world leaders and leading minds to discuss major global issues. The theme of this year's forum is "Calling for a Global U-Turn: Recentering Development, Reclaiming Humanity, Restoring Justice in a Crazy World."

C’est un fait que la pression militaire à long terme ne mène pas à la paix, a déclaré samedi le ministre iranien des Affaires étrangères, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

M. Araghchi a prononcé un discours lors d'un forum virtuel, affirmant que des décennies d'ingérence étrangère, de pression militaire et de guerres incessantes au Moyen-Orient avaient démontré une vérité indéniable : l'intervention militaire n’assure pas la sécurité, et le recours à la pression et à la coercition ne mène pas à la paix.

M. Araghchi a appelé la communauté internationale à redonner au droit international son véritable sens et sa crédibilité, en passant de l'interventionnisme au respect de la souveraineté nationale, des sanctions collectives à la protection des civils, de la responsabilité sélective à la justice universelle, et des guerres incessantes à une paix durable.

أكد وزير الخارجية الإيراني، عباس عراقجي، يوم السبت/19 سبتمبر الجاري، أن الضغط العسكري طويل الأمد لن يحقق السلام.

وألقى عراقجي كلمة في منتدى افتراضي، قائلا فيها إن عقوداً من التدخل الأجنبي والضغط العسكري والحروب التي لا تنتهي في الشرق الأوسط أثبتت حقيقةً لا جدال فيها، وهي أن التدخل العسكري لا يُحقق الأمن، وأن ممارسة الضغط والإكراه لا تُفضي إلى السلام.

ودعا عراقجي المجتمع الدولي إلى إعادة المعنى الحقيقي والمصداقية للقانون الدولي، من التدخل إلى احترام السيادة الوطنية، ومن العقاب الجماعي إلى حماية المدنيين، ومن المساءلة الانتقائية إلى العدالة العالمية، ومن الحروب التي لا نهاية لها إلى السلام الدائم.

Langfristiger militärischer Druck bringe keinen Frieden. Dies hat der iranische Außenminister Seyyed Abbas Araghtschi am Samstag erklärt.

Auf einem virtuellen Forum erklärte Araghtschi in einer Rede, dass jahrzehntelange ausländische Einmischung, militärischer Druck und endlose Kriege im Nahen Osten eine unbestreitbare Wahrheit bewiesen hätten: Militärische Interventionen schafften keine Sicherheit, und die Ausübung von Druck und Zwang führe nicht zu Frieden.

Gleichzeitig forderte er die internationale Gemeinschaft auf, dem Völkerrecht wieder seine eigentliche Bedeutung und seine Glaubwürdigkeit zurückzugeben – weg vom Interventionismus hin zur Achtung der nationalen Souveränität, weg von kollektiven Bestrafungen hin zum Schutz der Zivilbevölkerung, weg von selektiver Rechenschaftspflicht hin zu universeller Gerechtigkeit und weg von endlosen Kriegen hin zu dauerhaftem Frieden.
