7. PLA military aircraft during patrol mission

Naval and air units of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command on Wednesday conducted combat readiness patrols in the territorial sea and airspace of China's Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas.

Huangyan Dao is part of China's inherent territory, and since the beginning of September, the PLA Southern Theater Command has organized naval and air forces to enhance patrols and vigilance in the surrounding areas of and airspace over the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao, the theater command said.

The move aimed to further strengthen control of relevant sea areas and airspace, effectively counter all sorts of rights-violation and provocative acts, and resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty and security while firmly maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea, it said.

China has sovereignty over Nanhai Zhudao (the South China Sea Islands) which consist of Dongsha Qundao (the Dongsha Islands), Xisha Qundao (the Xisha Islands), Zhongsha Qundao (the Zhongsha Islands) and Nansha Qundao (the Nansha Islands). Huangyan Dao is located in the Zhongsha Qundao.

China has historic rights in the South China Sea. China also has internal waters, territorial sea, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, based on Nanhai Zhudao.

The international community has long widely recognized Nanhai Zhudao as part of China's territory.

Les unités navales et aériennes de la Zone de commandement du Sud de l'Armée populaire de libération (APL) de Chine ont mené mercredi des patrouilles de préparation au combat dans les eaux et l'espace aérien territoriaux de l'île chinoise Huangyan, ainsi que dans les zones adjacentes.

L'île Huangyan fait partie intégrante du territoire inhérent de la Chine. Depuis le début du mois de septembre, la Zone de commandement du Sud de l'APL a déployé ses forces navales et aériennes pour renforcer les patrouilles et la vigilance dans les zones environnantes et l'espace aérien au-dessus des eaux territoriales de l'île Huangyan, a indiqué la zone de commandement.

Cette mesure visait à renforcer davantage le contrôle des zones maritimes et de l'espace aérien concernés, à contrer efficacement toutes sortes d'actes de violation des droits et de provocation, et à sauvegarder résolument la souveraineté et la sécurité de la Chine tout en maintenant fermement la paix et la stabilité en mer de Chine méridionale, a-t-elle précisé

La Chine exerce sa souveraineté sur les îles de la mer de Chine méridionale, qui comprennent les îles Xisha, les îles Zhongsha et les îles Nansha. L'île Huangyan est située dans les îles Zhongsha.

La Chine détient des droits historiques en mer de Chine méridionale. Elle dispose également d'eaux intérieures, d'une mer territoriale, d'une zone contiguë, d'une zone économique exclusive et d'un plateau continental, fondés sur les îles Nanhai.

Les îles Nanhai sont depuis longtemps largement reconnues par la communauté internationale comme faisant partie du territoire chinois.

Nach Angaben des Militärkommandos Süd der chinesischen Volksbefreiungsarmee (VBA) haben Marine- und Luftstreitkräfte am Mittwoch Patrouillen zur Kampfbereitschaft in den Hoheitsgewässern und im Luftraum rund um die Huangyan-Insel sowie in den umliegenden Gebieten durchgeführt.

Die Huangyan-Insel sei ein untrennbarer Bestandteil des chinesischen Territoriums und seit Anfang September habe das Kommando Süd der VBA Marine- und Luftstreitkräfte mobilisiert, um Patrouillen- und Warnaktivitäten in den Hoheitsgewässern und im Luftraum rund um die Huangyan-Insel sowie in den umliegenden Gebieten zu verstärken, teilte das Kommando mit.

Ziel dieser Maßnahme sei es, die Kontrolle über die betreffenden Seegebiete und den Luftraum weiter zu festigen, allen Arten von Rechtsverletzungen und Provokationen wirksam zu begegnen sowie Chinas Souveränität und Sicherheit entschlossen zu wahren und gleichzeitig Frieden und Stabilität im Südchinesischen Meer nachdrücklich zu sichern, hieß es weiter.
