Thousands gathered in Iran's Alborz Province for a Jan-Fada procession, a public event bringing together people who have registered for Iran's wartime volunteer campaign.

The name means "Sacrifice for Iran." The campaign emerged after the war with the United States and Israel began in February, calling on Iranians to volunteer in support of the country.

Organizers say more than 31 million people have registered, representing just over a third of the country's population, though the figure has not been independently verified.

The campaign is aimed at mobilizing civilians for national defense, emergency response, and social services. But organizers say the movement is now moving beyond registration, with volunteers being grouped into units and trained for specific roles.

In Alborz, the Jan-Fada campaign has taken on a more structured form. Around 100 units have been established across the province, with thousands of people receiving training. Participants include families, young people, athletes, medical workers and other volunteers. For some, the procession is an opportunity to publicly declare their readiness to serve.

"We are ready and at the service of the Leader's orders, and we have come here to declare our readiness," said Samaneh, a Jan-Fada participant.

Participants said they were united and ready to act on instructions from Iran's new Supreme Leader.

"We are all ready, and we are all waiting for our Leader's orders. And we are all standing together," said Roghayeh, another Jan-Fada participant.

Commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and local officials were also present, with senior figures highlighting what they described as public resilience during the conflict.

"Even if they wage war against us ten times over, the people will continue to stand firm. They will always defend the Revolution and Islam," said Hossein Nejat, an IRGC commander.

In Tehran, more than 300,000 people participated. Local authorities said this procession was smaller, but still described the turnout as massive.

"The procession is so nice. As a matter of fact, I want to say that we have 110,000 people, or even more, in this street," said Morteza Mohammadi, a participant.

The movement, which started in Tehran, has now expanded across the country. Organizers said the procession was intended to show that Jan-Fada was no longer simply about signing up, but about organizing civilian volunteers to defend Iran.
