The Saudi-led coalition said Sunday a projectile had struck a passenger terminal at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
An assault with an unknown projectile struck Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport, coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Malki said on social media platform X.
Air defenses intercepted and destroyed a missile near the airport, and a fire resulting from the attack is being handled at the site, he said.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said in a statement that King Khalid International Airport was targeted by a new attack on Sunday afternoon, resulting in injuries.
The GACA said damage assessments and safety inspections of airport facilities are underway in coordination with relevant authorities.
The strikes came a day after an attack targeting the same airport killed 12 people and injured 309 others, according to the GACA.
