Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks with President of the Council of Ministers of Togo Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe in Beijing on Thursday.

Li noted that China-Togo relations have continuously reached new heights under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries. No matter how the international landscape changes, China is ready to be trustworthy partners with Togo, carry forward traditional friendship, solidify political mutual trust, and deepen cooperation across various fields to better serve the modernization of both nations, he said.

China stands ready to closely align development strategies with Togo, tap and foster more growth points for cooperation, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as connectivity, infrastructure, agricultural modernization, and finance, so as to jointly bolster development momentum for both countries, Li said.

China is willing to import more quality products from Togo and welcomes the Togolese side to make full use of policy conveniences such as zero-tariff treatment and the upgraded green channel for African agricultural products entering China, Li said.

He added that both sides can strengthen cooperation in medical and health care, youth, culture, and think tanks to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

China is also ready to work with Togo and other African countries to actively implement the 10 partnership action plans for China-Africa modernization, contributing to lasting peace, development, and prosperity in Africa.

For his part, Faure Gnassingbe said Togo firmly supports the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with China in various fields to enhance the well-being of both peoples.

He added that Togo supports resolving differences through dialogue and stands ready to strengthen multilateral coordination with China to maintain regional peace and stability.

Following their talks, the two leaders jointly witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation documents covering industrial and supply chains, human resources, and customs inspection and quarantine.

The two sides also issued a joint statement between the government of the People's Republic of China and the government of the Togolese Republic on building a China-Togo community with a shared future for the new era.
