Russia said on Thursday that its forces continued striking infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military and seized two settlements on the frontline, while Ukraine said it struck six Russian warplanes the same day.
In a daily report, the Russian Defense Ministry said that over the past day, Russian forces continued to strike infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military, as well as drone production workshops and storage sites.
During operations in Ukraine's Odesa region, Russian forces struck a port used for loading, unloading and storing Ukrainian military supplies, along with two dry cargo ships carrying military equipment, the ministry said.
It also said Russian forces had taken control of the settlements of Nefedovka and Chernoye in the Kharkiv region.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces, using the Neptune coastal missile system, struck six Su-34M bombers at the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia's southwestern Voronezh region, destroying four and damaging two.
He said Ukrainian forces also hit a drone storage and launch site in Russia's Oryol region and a target in the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that over the past day, its forces struck a Russian personnel concentration area and a drone launch site.
Ukraine has exhausted its stock of interceptor missiles for the U.S.-supplied Patriot air defense system, leaving most ballistic targets in Russia's latest attack unintercepted, Ukrainian media reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The report also said Russian missiles hit three power plants in Kiev and damaged energy infrastructure in Kharkiv.
While meeting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels on Thursday, Zelensky called on NATO partners to continue supplying defense equipment, especially ballistic missile interceptors and F-16 ammunition, saying Ukraine is pushing for a new air defense aid package.
