"The main task at the Oslo meeting was to coordinate positions among the United States, Europe, and Ukraine. That was how American negotiators characterized it after the meeting in Miami two weeks ago. It does not look as though those positions have been fully coordinated. Yes, the parties stated that they are discussing a wide range of issues, including models for a truce and security guarantees for Ukraine under the NATO article, but there is no confirmation that any agreement has been reached among the United States, Ukraine, and Europe on this part, or that any common position has been achieved that could be put on the negotiating table with Moscow."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed proposals for various ceasefire formats with U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff in Oslo, Norway on Tuesday, Ukraine's state-run Ukrinform news agency reported.

The meeting was also attended by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Speaking after the meeting, Zelensky said the talks also covered security guarantees for Ukraine and the country's recovery.

At a press conference, Zelensky confirmed his readiness for a trilateral meeting of the leaders of the United States, Ukraine, and Russia. He also reiterated that the Ukrainian government agrees to refrain from strikes on Russian energy facilities in exchange for a reciprocal decision by Russia.

However, although the full content of the Oslo talks has not been disclosed, analysts in Kiev are skeptical about their results.

"The main task at the Oslo meeting was to coordinate positions among the United States, Europe, and Ukraine. That was how American negotiators characterized it after the meeting in Miami two weeks ago. It does not look as though those positions have been fully coordinated. Yes, the parties stated that they are discussing a wide range of issues, including models for a truce and security guarantees for Ukraine under the NATO article, but there is no confirmation that any agreement has been reached among the United States, Ukraine, and Europe on this part, or that any common position has been achieved that could be put on the negotiating table with Moscow," said Ruslan Bortnik, director of Ukrainian Institute of Politics.

Following the meeting, Witkoff is scheduled to travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, where he will meet with the Russian leadership to discuss peace efforts, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported.
