U.S. President Donald Trump told the Financial Times on Tuesday that the United States currently has no immediate plans to launch military action against Iran.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump also stressed that if necessary, the United States is prepared to take military action again.

When asked about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's hints that a strike could be launched later this week, Trump said that "I'm ready, we're ready. We're locked and loaded if we need to go, but there may be no reason for it".

Trump said that the United States and Iran are still negotiating through indirect channels over how to deal with Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium.

He said that although Iran's nuclear materials remain buried beneath hundreds of tons of rock, the U.S. side remains concerned about its existence, and this is one of the issues the two sides continue to discuss.
