Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has urged efforts to advance reform and opening-up, keep the economy operating within a proper range, improve people's livelihood and promote high-quality development.
Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from Thursday to Saturday.
In Yulin City, Li visited a local enterprise to learn about the effect of tax-relief policies and the operation of suited small enterprises. He said the reduction of taxes and fees is to enable enterprises to travel light and make greater contributions to the country in the future.
The government will continue to take multiple measures to address issues such as rising commodity prices and stabilize prices through market-based measures, Li said.
He also visited a village and talked with villagers on the development of local sugarcane industry as well as their livelihood.
In Nanning City, Li listened to reports on the synergy between Guangxi and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and visited a foreign-controlled logistics park.
He also learned about the development of a private company, saying the country will continue to deepen reforms and improve the business environment in order to safeguard fair competition and promote better development of the private economy.
At a public rental housing community, Li talked with residents and spoke highly of the promotion of small-sized rental housing, which improves the living conditions of an increasing number of people.
Li highly affirmed Guangxi's achievement in social and economic development, urging Guangxi to keep on improving people's livelihood and take the lead in the development of central and western China.
