He called on the two sides to effectively use platforms including the joint committee on sci-tech cooperation, support universities, research institutions and enterprises in boosting cooperation on aspects including joint research and development and application of outcomes, and jointly enhance sci-tech innovation capabilities.
Li said that China is ready to work together with Spain to raise the level of transportation cooperation, promote high-quality development of the China-Europe freight train service, and jointly build an international green shipping corridor.
Li expressed the hope that Spain will continue to play an important role within the European Union (EU) to promote the healthy development of China-EU economic and trade relations.
For his part, Sanchez said that Spain is ready to maintain close high-level political dialogues with China, expand cooperation in economy, trade, science and technology, culture and other fields, and strengthen multilateral coordination.
Spain welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and develop businesses in the country, and is willing to play a positive role in enhancing dialogue, properly handling differences and promoting cooperation between the EU and China, said Sanchez.
