Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), had lodged a formal protest with the UN, accusing five Middle Eastern countries of allowing the United States to use their territory and airspace for military strikes against Iran, according to Iranian media reports on Thursday.
In a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UN Security Council, Iravani strongly protested against the U.S. use of the territory and airspace of Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Iran strongly demands that these countries adhere to the principle of good-neighborliness and prevent their territory and airspace from continuing to be used for U.S. military operations against Iran, he said.
