1. Press briefing in progress
2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Guo Jiakun, spokesman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"The one-China principle is a basic norm governing international relations and a prevailing consensus of the international community. It is where global opinion trends and the arc of history bends, and what the greater national interests entail. The United States has pointed fingers at China's legitimate actions to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and made unwarranted accusations against relevant countries' just actions of upholding the one-China principle, it is completely confusing right and wrong and misrepresenting facts. China resolutely opposes and rejects this. China urges the U.S. to abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, stop interfering in China's internal affairs using the excuse of the Taiwan question, stop helping Taiwan consolidate its so-called 'diplomatic' relations, and stop sending wrong signals to the Taiwan secessionist forces."
